there is no egg

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses and all the king's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

There's no mention that Humpty Dumpty is an egg ... so why the pictures ALWAYS depict an egg. He could very well be a vase or something just as breakable.

Heard this on Class 95 yesterday morning. I've never thought of it this way. Hrmmm.
