Guangzhou Trip

Warning ... image heavy post.

First come first ... I got a new hp for my birthday.

Sony Ericsson k800i.
Loving the macro mode for the camera. Playing around with the paranomic views and colourings. But it's hard getting used to it.

Next investment ... a bigger memory card.

Some pics I took with my new phone.

Drool ... damn I need to go out for sushi tomorrow.

Doodling during a meeting ... la la la la la.=P

My view of China after my trip ...

I still keep to my stand of the hygiene of the streets and toilets of China. Dirty. Still lotsa spit and people just throwing their rubbish and cig butts anywhere they like ... even with a dustbin just a few steps away.

I rather hold it in for the whole day til I get back to the hotel or a nice hotel than to go to any other loo!

Traffic is scary. But if you're not a "fierce" driver there ... you will take forever to get to your destinations.

LOVE THE CHEAP FOOD! Every meal I ate for two was at MOST S$20+ and those were the restaurants. YUMMERS~! But in politeness I had to eat things I never did. Hubby's friends treated us to a nice place, two of the dishes were namely fried frog and duck feet. YUCK!!!! I had to really force myself to eat. Frog barely got meat and the duck was like rubber. Sorry to say that but it's true. Give me beef and chicken anytime.

Ooh my hubby forced me to eat this stick of strawberries smothered in PURE MELTED SUGAR!!!! I was disgusted at the sight of him eating it. But gave in last min and .. wow ... the sugar covered up all the sourness of the strawberries ... I like.

Too bad Singapore don't have!

I also am missing the fried sotong sticks and curry fish balls!

Okay ... on with the pics. Will explain .. when I feel like it.

Fast food restaurant that sells porridge and other small chinese dishes.

This is the one of the shops in the accessories WHOLESALE building. I went to the clothing, accessories, glasses & shades, toys, bags and shoes wholesale shopping centres. But what I really hated is that they didn't sell anything in single pieces. Not even the bags. I ended up spending more buying the same stuff from outside shops.

This place is like Bugis. Some known brands but plenty of smaller rows of small shops in between selling cheap stuff. I went there like twice.

Did my nails in Beijing Road. Super well done right? All less than half an hour and only ... hahah ... S$5+. Nail art like this minimumly cost about $20 or more in Singapore.

RBT. Quite a popular teahouse there I think. Quite a few branches in the places that I went.

Most of the staircases in the wholesale centres had this contraption. This is because a lot of the people there buy their stuff by the bags ... BIG bags and trolley-ed them around. Lifts were scarce so this was an alternative.

I really wonder which idiot did this translation for the poor store owner.

Font, colour all the same.

Saw this so heartbroken. And worse still this cat meat was the cheapest meat on the menu!!! T_____T

Our buys!!!

I wonder when I'm gonna wear those boots.

Am gonna try to wear those jeans this week ... bought it one size too small. Can wear but tight. GYM GYM GYM!!!

Mostly hubby's stuff. Only the bag and jeans are mine.

Ooh and each of us got a new toy .... hehe.

Now all I need are batteries.

... I made a wish.

I saw a shooting star last night.

It was the most beautiful thing that I saw in the sky in my 26 years.

I made a wish.

It's going to be a very difficult wish to fulfil.

Sigh.

A new year has cometh ...

Counted down in Singapore Expo Hall 6.

During the last 30 seconds I reflected on my year.

What have I done? What have I achieved? What I should have done?

Plenty.

Got my very first full time job.

It's hard going into something inexperienced. I felt so dumb and hopeless most of the time. But things have to learnt and fast.

I love the people there. It's like a huge family. Everybody is taking care of each other. I like it here, considering I have met some nasty people from some of my previous temp jobs.

But to this day I'm still unsure of this job. Does it really hold the potential that I have seen at first? Do I really want to stay in this industry which doesn't really hold that strong an interest in?

Questions which I've to ask myself again once I've hit mid 2007.

Held my traditional wedding dinner in January.

Believe me I won't want to go through that again. It was non stop smiling and last minute stuff on that day. Barely had time to talk to my friends who turned up that night.

Thank you to all my jie meis and my hubby's brothers who really left behind some beautiful (aka funny) memories that morning. My hubby will never forget the durian.

I'll never forget his too short thank you speech and his brothers snatching away every single drink that night that he ended up almost not drinking anything.

But my daddy saved the day by bringing up a bottle of Royal Salute to our suite to drink and my hubby ended up drunk in bed.

I miss the suite.

2 Newcomers to the Lim Household.

20th November 2006 morning. Contractions started. I left for work ignorant to what was about to happen.

10am - Hubby called to say "SHE'S GIVING BIRTH!" WTF?!

Yes, on this day Bibi, my female shihtzu, gave birth to three boys. Zhuzhu must be proud but he seemed more like the blur dog that he always is. Not able to give proper names, we simply named them Lao Da (oldest one), Lao Er (2nd one) and Lao San (3rd one).

Sad to say Lao Da left us early the next day. Body being weaker than the other two and unable to get enough milk from Bibi. He just went cold and passed on. I hope he's somewhere beautiful now. It was really heartbreaking to see him like that. So beautiful yet so cold.

The other two now are big and healthy and growing fast. Already off weening and drinking ... keke ... HL Milk like their papa and mama.

3 major milestones in my 2006. But that doesn't mean all the other memories are not as beautiful. They are. And they shall be remembered. Thank goodness for blogs. Hee hee.

What was the first thing I did when I woke up this morning?

Had a tummy ache, took my Oct 2006 issue of Shape with me to read while I was in there. Found this interesting tiny portion which shall propel me to choose Mars bar whenever I'm in the dilemma for chocolate.

The Lowest and Highest Calorie Chocolate Bars
Kit Kat
381kcal, Fat 28.3g
Mars Bar
459.5kcal, Fat 18g
Snickers
488kcal, Fat 23.6g
Milo Bar
502.4kcal, Fat 27.1g
Cadbury's Dairy Milk Chocolate
530kcal, Fat 29.9g
Although Kit Kat may have the least calories but it has almost TWICE the Fat content as Mars Bar. So I'm sticking to my Mars ... mmm ... caramel.
I LOVE YOU ALL!
Especially to my hubby, hope you liked the carrot cake which I bought for you from the market while you continued to sleep. I'll try to get your breakfast to you every Sunday (seeing that that's the ONLY morning of the week which I do not need to wake up at 7am to go to work for.)
Dear!!! Quickly book our China tickets leh. I wanna go HK Disneyland and buy new bags. Keke.
