road to recovery

After 4 days and 3 nights at Changi Hospital I'm back home at last.
I had a very low white platelet count of 60+ (normal is 140). Without these white stuf my blood would not be able to clog, and if it gets too low, I might have internal bleeding.
On a drip, with a daily blood test ... for a needle phobia like me ... it is a lot to go through.
Today I'm home, still trying to recover back my strength, my legs are red and itchy looking like lobsters, my left arm is still weak. But at least I'm home.

Day 4 of Fever ...

Fever is gone. But my weak limbs are like bricks tied to my feet and hands. But that didn't stop me from going out today to visit the MANGO SALE at Orchard! Hahahah.

Even though it was a gruelling test of my resistance to not sit down cuz there were no empty seats at all. But the empty seat which I sat on for 3 stops was pure bliss! Reaching orchard I headed straight to Isetan to be greeted by a mob of women digging through mountains and racks of clothes. Hubby was like ... O_O;; so he went to Mac to wait for me to finish and told me to call him when I'm at the cashier. 5 rounds around the place, I found 4 tops totalling about $81. Couldn't find a nice enough bag and there was a pair of army green pants I liked but the dressing room queue was horrendous so I gave up that piece.

After paying we headed to library@Orchard to just find a book and sit down and rest. We were beat.

When I got home (hubby left for work) I immediately changed and switched on the air con and slept. Half way through I woke up to a FEVER AGAIN! NOOOOOO!!! I even puked out water mixed with my disgusting cough medicine. It was horrible. I sat there gagging for a good five minutes before it finally stopped.

PLEASE! Let me get well asap!!! I dun wanna go blood test! I dun wanna be put on a drip!!!

Day 3 of fever

Not any better. Headache is still here. Fever is coming and going. I wonder if that would affect my brain. Cough is getting better though. But the throat is so sore that it's painful to swallow even liquids. Body is not aching as much as day 1. But back is aching.

Hope I get well before Friday. I don't wanna go for a blood test nor be put on a drip. The thought of it is enough to make me cry.

Anyway high point of today is tonight's debut episode of Manhunt. *yummers* Can't wait.

dengue fever??

I went to see the doctor just now. He now make me very worried!! I thought fever is just fever! Wah liew! I totally forgot about the Dengue Fever that's going around in my area. My temperature was 39.4 degrees celcius just now ... which the doctor said is very high. Sigh. I hope I get well soon. A whole bunch of medicine to eat again. And the pills this time round are bigger! T_T
He told me that in this month alone he confirmed 50+ dengue fever cases especially amoung the construction workers. My area has a lot of construction going on, so they are best breeding grounds for MOSQUITOS!!!
Just now when I fed my hubby's betta fish I noticed one of the bigger breeding tanks had some wiggling stuff in it! OMG LARVAE LOH!!! SHOCKED ME!!! I quickly released the female betta from her bottle cage and let her loose. She started gobbling up the larvae straight away! I told hubby just now and he was surprised too. Heng I noticed it! Or else if got people come and check ah, can kenna FINE loh!!

I think I'm dying

Since 2 weeks ago on a Sunday, I've been having the most dreaded cough. My doctor was even worried for me as it sounded like I had "bronchitis" or something. I didn't think anything of it until I started coughing uncontrollably in the middle of the night and even have dry vomits. Sometimes when I manage to spit anything out (very seldom), there's a tinge of blood in my spit. O_O!!
Everyday drinking hot "liang cha" and after that ran out, honey chrysenthumum. Even the medicine the doc gave me didn't help! And to make matters worse, I just came down with HIGH FEVER last night. This morning shivering and sweating ... trying to sweat it out. But ... still no use!!! Later I'm gonna see my family doctor at Pasir Ris ... sigh. More medicine to eat. *cries*
And the worst thing is that I've been missing out in so much fun with my friends!

You believe that that claypot bowl of shark's fin soup costs S$50!!! My god!! But you have to admit ... it was really an experience to see a WHOLE piece of shark's fin in the bowl. It was really filling too ... more of a serving for two.

The Katong Laksa ... haha ... we saw the soup look a bit too white ... so my hubby act smart and added a lot of chilli to his laksa until it turned an orangey red. Hahahaha! It was DAMN blurdy HOT~~!!! He was sweating like he was showering like that. Used two whole packets of tissue!! But eat until damn shoik. Me so swah-ku (mountain turtle) didn't know that the laksa there is use spoon only to eat one. Got a lot of soup stains on my top sia!

Visited the doctor today. He told me a lot of worrisome things. He asked me if my family got any history of asthma, serious illness etc. He even asked if I was asthmatic. He said my cough sounded like as if I have bronchitis or something like that. SCARY LEH!!! He use cheem cheem word on me! I don't understand!!! But it sounds serious! He said most probably I don't have it (phew) but my cough does sound tight and that I had to take deep breaths after I cough cuz lack of air like that. Sigh. Now got 4 different types of medicine to eat. No antibiotics.

COUGH!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

My cough has gotten so bad to the point that I'm ...
- losing sleep.
- cannot speak a full sentence without coughing in between.
- gagging to a point that sometimes ends in dry vomits.
- boiling a flask of water every few hours to drink.
- feeling suicidal ... just to end this agony. (don't worry I won't do anything stupid)
- crying pathetically that I cannot make this cough end sooner.
- making my hubby angry too cuz he's fed up with the noise, disturbances.

He says he cares. He certainly didn't looked like he cared when I was coughing and trying to explain to him why I didn't want to help him pick out tee shirts at F-Men. He walked away from me. I had to run after him, coughing and choking with my words.

People stare at me when I cough like I have some deadly contagious disease. I'M SICK!!! PITY ME and don't make me feel worse than I already am!

I wish someone, anyone ... I'll even make a pact with the devil himself just to be rid of this damn cough ... so that I can get back to normal!

I'll see the doc tomorrow morning ... hope he/she can give me some instant cure. But I highly doubt it.

Mini Betta Competition

Betta = Fighting Fish

Enjoy the photos.

The trophies
The winners!
Some of these took me 20 shots to get only ONE good/acceptable shot.
Some of the others that I liked although they didn't win.
Bottom row one was an orangy red ... very nice to see ... but he was super fast so I this was the best I could get.

Apologies for the lousy images. They kept darting around and I couldn't find the "action" function for my camera ... guh. None of the fishes belonged to me nor my hubby as our betta were not ready for competition.

Oh but there was ONE subject who was such a good boy. Hee hee. Behold ... Zhu Zhu our Champion!!!

*gags*

I ALWAYS fall sick after exams and never enjoy myself.

Now have a terrible dry cough and I cannot spit out the phleam.

I dunno how! Is it my fault that I do not have the nasty habit of spitting???

Now cannot sleep cause of the gagging cough. Coughing so hard that even though I'm fast asleep the dryness and itchiness in my throat gets too much to handle that I wake up with heavy laboured breaths and gagging spasms.

I feel so ... terrible now.

Drank warm water and pi pa gao earlier ... but still not feeling better ... cries.

FREEDOM!

Yes ... the sweet taste of freedom! Exams are now officially over. Now to await the impending results with disgust.

Can now start doing things I WANT TO DO LIAO! Crazy drawings! Crazying clubbing! Crazy shopping!

Last night at Zouk was fun when we were dancing but .. but ... it was TOOOOOOOO crowded. I have no idea WHY! It was not a public holiday, no parties, no events. But all of us were packed like sardines in a TINY can.

Saw someone I now officially USED to like. Now ... sigh ... I think even calling him friend is no longer optional. He think I what? Transparent ah? Not even a peep of a "hello" from him. Sighz. Heart a little pain from the thought that this friendship has come to petty jealousy from a third party ... but what to do ... I'm only a "friend", I mean, I USED to be a friend.

After I got out, saw a very disgusting attempt of "chilvary" from a pair of guys. Their companion, at least I think she was their companion, was DRAGGING a girl out of Zouk, and let her drop like a boneless rag doll in the middle of the ROAD! Then after SADLY attempting to carry her, and exposing her panties and nearly her boobs to everyone there, one of the guys finally had the BRAINS to carry her PROPERLY to the pathway where he promptly DROP her again!!! He didn't even had the decency to help her cover up!!! Butt and lotsa skin were exposed for everyone's perusal ... and guess what? The guy and his friends were kinda CHUCKLING over the whole goddam thing!!! Guh ... Yan wanted to give them a piece of her mind! Had to stop her, too many guys, dunno what might happen.

Too many things happened last night, although mostly unrelated to me, I would not want to mention. Too lazy.

Now I'm happy that hubby took off today. Going shopping later. Going to go look at puppies too. I wanna get that 2nd female shih tzu pup! Haiz.

Tata.

You can say I'm one damn lucky bitch. Muahahah ... dumpling festival is coming soon, but when I have no idea at all. All I know is that I get to eat all the rice dumplings that I want. I love the white rice dumpling the most. The plainest yes but the best in my opinion.

And they are hand made by my mother-in-law and my hubby's granny. See see! I just helped myself to TWO rice dumplings just now. Later in the evening I'm gonna have two more for dinner. Woohoo!

And they are soooo much better than those sold outside. Just nice and sticky rice, not too dry and piping hot from the pot of hot water! Wheeee!

This is the view from my floor of the road. An expressway that they are making underground. But you see that proper black marked road in the middle above-ground? AT LAST they made that road and opened it. Helped ease a lot of traffic that were causing jams around the MRT area (one street away) especially during peak hours.

But that means the old road has closed. It was too small any and hopefully they would expand that road in the future. That also means that a lot of buses are redirected to go PAST my nearby bus stop to get to the near road! Yipee!!! That's like a save of 10 mins walk to my nearby bus stop than the previous one. And there's 5-6 more buses stopping here. Heehee. 2 more from Bugis and it's easier to get to Parkway now.

Papparrazzi vs Star Wars Clones ...
I dunno which is scarier, the length of their equipment (camera lens) or the distinctive crotch area and the funny grin those clones have on their faces.
I now officially have ONE TOOTH GONE!

That tooth has been slowly eroding, thanks to my lack of teeth care and not seeing the dentist for ... since Secondary school ... which is a good 10 years at least. Plus I've never flossed.

Part by part it broke off. I knew it was not only due to my improper teeth care, but also partly to that stupid tooth op I got a few years back. Waste of money I say. She didn't do a proper job of saving my half gone tooth, fixed like half of FAKE tooth to the remaining half tooth to fix it. Little did I know the remaining half tooth was decaying from the inside from then onwards.

Lucky that hole where my tooth was previously is way at the back. Hee hee.
